Like this resident whom you have called 'honourable lady' - I believe you meant to convey your respect only, many have questions on the Rs 500/- as fee for these cards.

We understood from the agency rep. who was working out of RWA office that their fee is just nominal and the remaining money goes to the RWA.

I am not sure who approved this verification agency. The form for registering the maids collect more information about the resident than the maid. Someone should have at least seen what they are collecting and for what purpose. Example : Blood group of the resident - it appeared sheer stupidity to ask for this information.

Unfortunately, your response were not at all to-the-point though you started as point-wise. But you have really strayed a lot.

These maid have full information about the charges for these cards in other colonies. It is Rs 100/ at some place and Rs 200/ at others. But we know, Ardee City is different on many counts and this is another addition but unfortunately this time due to a unpopular decision by Resident Welfare Association.

Maintenance charges is a different subject and entail more than what can be written here. I knew last year that mother dairy construction is in full swing but that full-swing-mother-dairy construction is coming to an end. RWA had made so much of noise about this then. Security is not there, road are not there, lights are not there ....

Since the last Dharna by the residents nothing has moved, it has already been over a month...

This is hopeless situation out there.

Whether as an RWA office bearer or as responsible resident of Ardee City, I feel this is a wonderful step that RWA has initiated. Every step in a positive direction will change the way things are in Ardee City.

However, yesterday I received a call from a very honourable lady fighting with me:
1. Why she should pay 500/- for issuing a Gurgaon Police registered identity card?

2. There are so many houses in Ardee City and why should all houses pay for their domestic servants? The lady kept on insisting if it is a small complex it is OK to collect from 100 to 200 houses but for 1000s of houses in Ardee City it is not fair?

3. If RWA is charging for this, why is the RWA stopping the residents from paying higher maintenance charges to Ardee?

To answer each of the questions pointwise:
1. The charges have been fixed looking at the cost of managing this service as well as paying to the agency we have outsourced this work to. When we go out for a meal, we do not bat an eyelid to spend money in this vicinity and more but to pay for something which will go on to enhance and improve security in Ardee City seems to be like the RWA is taking life-savings of a household!! Is it fair to think like this? On one side we are protesting to have better conditions and security in Ardee and on the other hand we are cribbing when measures are being implemented. Obviously it is a no-brainer that better and improved services will come at a cost. Travelling in Sleeper Class and AC-2 Tier is not the same. The other thing I want to say is that it is a good gesture that the household pays for this - but the onus to pay is on the person in whose name the card is being issued. Lastly, this card will serve as a general identity proof (not in the same way as a govt. issued document) for those persons who otherwise do not have any identity proof (generally speaking) since this card is registered with Gurgaon Police with a unique number.

2. The honourable lady and other residents must be aware that it is easier and cheaper to implement security in an enclosed-gated 100 to 200 condo complex than a place like Ardee City. Moreover, the honourable lady should be more concerned with what she is paying and not what 1000s of houses are paying. The measure is being taken as the first step in enhancing security in Ardee City. Surprising that the honourable lady and/or other residents feel otherwise. How can we double-speak?? Are we a colony full of hypocrites?

3. No issues to pay Ardee higher manitenance charges. I would personally love to do the same. However, I will hate to pay more for the SAME services and for the SAME conditions prevalent in Ardee - Ardee is asking for more money but on their part they are not committing on deliverying higher standards of security, housekeeping, horticulture and other services within the colony. More money will only get diverted to maintain Ardee's own facilities and not for the benefit of residents of Ardee City. If the honourable lady feels it is wise to pay more for this, I am afraid, I will not like to comment on her sensibilities. A circular to this effect was also circulated explaining RWA position vs Ardee in a detailed handbill delivered to every household in Ardee City sometime mid-December 2010. Handbills, Emails, SMSes & postings on our website and notices pasted all over Ardee City is to educate the residents and even then they are oblivious of the facts then the residents who choose to keep themselves unaware are beyond any redemption to be living in an isolated world. As the old English adage goes, one can bring the horse to the water but can't make it drink water!!
