IAWRT presents 6th Asian Women's Film Festival 2010 at Main Building, IIC - 10am onwards on 6th-8th March 2010

Event Details : The IAWRT-India ( The International Association of Women in Radio and Television ), in partnership with the IIC present the 6th Asian Women’s Film Festival. This event will showcase the works of Asian women film makers in a range of genres – fiction, non-fiction, animation and  television  features. This year we have opened the widow to non- Asian women filmmakers whose works focus on Asia .The seminar will have lively interactions with scholars, media makers and viewers forum on popular media and gender concerns .    
The term ''Asian'' refers to origin – the film maker can be working in any part of the world.
Though not mandatory, the aim is to screen films made in the last two years so that the selection reflects contemporary concerns and fresh energies. There is a special section of student films.
The theme of the 6th Asian Women’s Film Festival, March 2010, is BREAKING BOUNDARIES : SHARED SPACES. The selection of films  reflect how women (as film makers and/or as protagonists) negotiate, resist or document political, social, cultural, environmental, educational or economic issues.
