RWA Update on Actions 13-Jan-2015

• I am sorry, we could not print the Communique dated the 9th January, basically because we were anxious to know the outcome of the hearing fixed before the sole Arbitrator on that day in the matter of payment of maintenance charges. Shri Nihal S. Mandhotra had received a notice for appearance in the matter. Subsequently, some more residents have also received similar notices. We are trying to engage a legal expert on reasonable charges who should be able  to handle the matter to RWA's satisfaction. At this stage, Shri Arindam Ghose, who is representing RWA at the District/State Consumer Forums, has tentatively agreed to handle the matter in the Arbitrator's court also, pending settlement of dues to be paid for the same to the RWA's satisfaction.

• On the 9th January, the Arbitrator received our reply/documents filed by RWA. He informed that as per the procedure, both the parties will be supplied the documents followed by rejoinder, etc. of each party, for which he allowed the time up to 6th February, 2015, when the matter will be heard.

• The Cultural Unit of the RWA is actively engaged in organising the Republic Day function on the 26th January 2015, at the Games Park, Ardee City, where games for children and food stalls are also planned. The residents can express their interest in any one of the planned activities and get in touch with Cultural Committee (Mob. 9810744880/ 9810709126).

• The RWA is now waiting to see the outcome of the hearings fixed in January/February in the Distt./State Consumer Forums. In consultation with the, legal expert, it is proposed to request the Distt. Forum to kindly give his final decision and let us treat the supplementary agreement as no longer valid, so that the residents are in a position to decide the modalities, etc., including new rates of maintenance charges which they would consider reasonable and would like to pay.

• We have already requested that those who would like the RWA to deposit their electricity bills at the Complaint office may please deposit their bills two days before the due date of payment, along with the maintenance bills. This request is repeated for the information of the residents.
