RWA Update on Actions 18-Nov-2014

• As a part of the review recently taken by the President, RWA, it was decided that we should go to the residents (at an Open House)  to apprise them of the RWA Governing Body's position  on the burning issues of payment of electricity bills/maintenance bills, the problems being created by the Ardee Management in connection therewith, etc. It is tentatively considered that the said Open House (to the Janata-Janardhan) meeting may be held on the 30th November, 2014, probably around 11.00 a.m. At the ground near Gate No.1, hoping that the Ardee Management will not create any hindrance in the same.

• Since not much headway seems to be in sight, it may be worthwhile telling the Ardee Management that the residents are not satisfied with the present security arrangement and that the same should be removed out of the agreement and the management should concentrate on the remaining items for maintenance, for which they should indicate the chargeable sum to be included in the new agreement. Since our supplementary agreement dated 16.8.2013 no longer subsists, as one of the parties thereto, i.e. RWA has already revoked in September, it may look reasonably logical to work out some new arrangement, to avoid any stalemate.  It will be very helpful if the residents please come out candidly with their views on this point. However, Ardee Management has refused to accept the revocation of supplementary agreement and still raising the bills for Rs 1686/- which is illegal.

• We have never closed the doors for negotiations on any issue, but the autocratic attitude of the Management does not let things move forward in a positive direction. In keeping with our attitude of not closing the doors for negotiated settlement, the President, the General Secretary, the Joint Secretary and the Treasurer met the General Manager, Ardee Infrastructure on Monday, the 17th instant in his office at 10.30 a.m. To discuss the above matters, especially the ones mentioned in para 2 above.   His attitude remains unchanged. He boldly said that he will not accept anything less than the present maintenance rate. He also said that he cannot withdraw the security item from out of the maintenance and to indicate any new rate for any new agreement. He hedged his statements with excuses that these would require various approvals which does not hold water at all. He was also not prepared to give any of these things in writing. He tried to intimidate us by saying that they are planning to file criminal complaint with the police and a case of defamation in the relevant court against the RWA. His attitude was dictatorial and did not contain any indication to come to a negotiating table with a receptive mind. The meeting ended with 'Agreeing to Disagree' note.

• The new 11 KV electric substation being constructed on D-2 road is going to be serious eye-sore in the near future because of the technical snags in its planning. Quite a few roads still remain to be attended to, even though the residents concerned have been regularly paying the maintenance bills raised on them.

To conclude: Please make up your mind finally to face Ardee Management with a firm stand : Either stay with RWA 100% and refuse payment of maintenance charges to Ardee or side with  Ardee 100% irrespective of whatever they demand and whatever terms they dictate.
