Event Details : Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) in association with Department of Information Technology, Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, Government of India present Workshop on Internet Governance & Inclusive Growth.
Internet and its associated applications today are an important means of doing easy, convenient, real time, always connected business and are also acting as an effective tool for transforming the lives of people. In order to attain inclusive growth and remain competitive globally, businesses, economy and society as a whole have to work towards leveraging this important tool of communication which offers huge opportunities with various challenges.
The workshop is being planned around the main sessions of the Fourth Internet Governance Forum scheduled for November 2009 in Egypt. The workshop will create awareness on Internet Governance in India. It would provide an opportunity to hear the thoughts of various stakeholders in this area and would help in better understanding the role of Internet for Inclusive Growth in India.
Shri. R Chandrashekhar, Secretary and Shri. N Ravi Shanker, Joint Secretary, Department of Information Technology, Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, Government of India have agreed to join at the Workshop.
