Gurgaon : Gurgaon residents continued to protest on Thursday demanding better power and water supply. While residents of Ardee City came out of their homes protesting against the erratic power supply, several Residential Welfare Associations (RWAs) came together and met the deputy commissioner P C Meena to find a solution to the present crisis.
The members of RWAs also presented Meena with data of certain areas, including posh localities like Sushant Lok, where there has been almost no water supply for days at a stretch.
Gurgaon Citizen’s Council in its letter to the deputy commissioner pointed out that there was no supply in several areas from May 15 to 25. Again from June 29, the supply had stopped in many areas and was yet to resume, said Council president C R Rathee in his letter.
Rathee also requested Meena to convene a special meeting of the Grievance Committee at the earliest to find short- and long-term solutions to the crisis.
According to Council members, data collected from Sushant Lok area showed that since June 29, against a requirement of more than 12,000 litres, the area was getting a maximum of 1,500 litres — sometimes, even as less as 300 litres. Residents also took up the issue of power shortage with P C Meena.
Residents of Ardee City took to the streets shouting slogans against the erratic power supply in their area.
“There is a 5 MW load structure which has been installed but the area needs around 14 MW. The builder has not enhanced the load capacity till date. We face power cuts for more than 10 hours every day,†said T N Kaul, president of the Ardee City RWA.
