Earthquake mock drill to be held in Gurgaon

GURGAON: A mock drill to check earthquake preparedness in the city will be conducted under the disaster management plan of the district administration on July 20. The district administration held a meeting with all the departments concerned to discuss plans for the mock drill.

 

A meeting will be held on July 19, where all the participating departments, school/college managements and NGOs will be elaborately explained their responsibilities.

 

The mock drill will commence at 11.30am on July 20, when a siren will go off to alert them of an 'earthquake'. Participants will be told how to respond to such a situation - to run out of their homes, come out in open grounds, or stop vehicular movement. The armed forces will also be involved in the mock drill.
