Communiqué dated Aug 22, 2014
- As you are all aware, the RWA organised the celebration of the Independence Day on the 15th August at the RWA office. With limited resources at our disposal, we could still put up a reasonably good and graceful show – the first such event of the new RWA. The programme started as scheduled at 10.30 am with the flag hoisting ceremony, which was done by the President Shri Arvind Kumar Ji. It was followed by singing the National Anthem and patriotic songs befitting the occasion. The children were quite excited and gave joyful performances. The highlight of the occasion was the gifting of a tree sapling by Shri Deepak Gaur representing the GIFT A TREE (Mob. 9999709050) as a symbol of gratitude of Mother Earth, which is the source of all life. This plant has been kept at the RWA office. Dr. Manoj Khanna acted as compere and conducted the ceremony.
- Along side, in the same colony, a similar function was also organised by the Senior Citizens Chaupal. Happily, quite a few members of RWA attended that function also and vice versa.
- On the 18th August, the Janamashtami – birthday of Lord Krishna was also celebrated at the RWA premises between 8 to 10.00 PM. Few ladies volunteers took the initiative and made all the arrangements. Over 100 families visited the pooja/Kirtan and paid respects to the Lord Krishna and got his blessings as well as Prasad. Few devotional dance and songs were also performed in addition to the traditional mandli performance.
- It would be the RWA's effort to try to organise such small functions frequently so that the residents get a chance of interaction and socializing amongst themselves and also add to the cultural content in our life.
RWA would like to record Thanks to all who helped in organizing these functions as well as to all participants.
